Nicole Kidman（ニコール・キッドマン）は、前夫Tom Cruise（トム・クルーズ）と出会う前にオランダのアムステルダムで開かれたフリーマーケットで古いウェディング・ドレスを購入した。彼女はこのドレスを不吉だと思っている。
Nicoleは、"This is terrible, but I bought my wedding dress - a beautiful dress from the 1920s - in a flea market in Amsterdam.It was bought with the possibility that I would meet the person I was going to marry sometime soon. I did meet my future husband four years later, and that was the dress I wore when we got married. You're never meant to do that. It's bad luck. そしてNicoleは、再びウェディング・ドレスを着る日が近いことを示唆した。

一方彼女の恋人で映画プロデューサーのSteve Bing（スティーブ・ビング）は、Sony Picturesと共にCliffsnotes Beowulf(Cliffs Notes)の映画化に着手するという。VarietyによるとRobert Zemeckis（ロバート・ゼメキス）が本作を監督し、Bingが出資して大成功を収めた"The Polar Express"と同様のモーション・キャプチャー形式で撮られるという。
