第56回エミー賞主要部門ノミネート作品（内は放送開始の年）

ミニシリーズではAngels in Americaが21部門、ベストドラマでは常連のThe Sopranosが20部門、コメディでは今年惜しまれつつ終了したSex and the Cityが11部門にノミネートされた。
Sex and the Cityは不仲の主要キャスト4人がノミネートされているのも話題だ。撮影中はサラがキムを徹底的にいじめ、サラ派のメイク係は彼女と口も利かなかったという。キムは映画版Sex and the Cityの降板を決めたが、サラは彼女を死んだ設定にして企画を続行させようとしているという。授賞式でどのように顔を合わせるのかが見ものだ。
